Luxury additions for homes on small blocks

If you want a home with all the luxury trimmings, but only have a small block, it might be time to get creative. Here are some ways to save space while having all of necessary features.

Underground car parking

By putting some of your car parking underground you can save some much needed space to use as living area. It's also a great way to keep your cars off the street and undercover, out of harms way, which can be ideal if you have a collection of luxury vehicles that may attract attention.

A roof top pool

If you don't have much yard space, but would like a pool for swimming and recreation, a roof top pool can be a great way to solve this problem. While a roof top pool is considerably more expensive than an in-ground option, it can offer a lot more flexibility in terms of size and shape on a small block. If your home is higher than the surrounding properties, a roof top pool can also offer more privacy than ingrown options that may be visible from your neighbours upper storeys.  If you have an impressive view, then a roof top pool can also be a great way to take advantage of that view.

Glass feature walls and ceilings

To make the most of your living areas and let in as much natural light as possible, it can be spectacular to use extremely large windows and glass feature walls. You can even use glass in ceilings for higher levels such as gyms. These allow you to get a great view of the night sky as well as making to most of the beautiful Australian climate.

Flexible floor plans

Many luxury homes on smaller blocks make use of flexible floor plans, where sliding doors can be a used to connect or separate rooms as required to limit the amount of separate rooms required. This can allow you to have a games room day-to-day, which can be turned into a formal dining room for example. This can be a great way to get all of the features you need, while operating with the available space.

If you are looking to build a luxury home but only have a small block, you can often incorporate some of these features to get all of the functionality you need. Luxury home designers can work with you to create a design that works for you and your family.
