My Daughter will be 6 months old at Christmas and i REALLY want to get her her first Doll. but I’m having difficulty in finding one.
The only one Ive seen is this one http://www.toysrus.co.uk/Toys-R-Us/Toys/Dolls/Baby-Dolls-and-Accessories/My-First-Baby-Annabell-White(0034596)
Trouble is its from 12 months there’s no small parts or anything so what do you think, and if you know of another Doll for her age please let me know thanks
Mommy of 2 boys and a girl- My daughter has ton’s of development toys so no worries there
Lulu- i love that doll! Thanks everyone
It doesn’t seem unsafe but she may not be able to lift it – it will be too big and awkward. My daughter is 7 months and loves this baby doll. It has crinkly wings and has a squeaker and a bell. She "wrestles" with it all the time and sucks on the wings.

This looks like a great doll to give to your daughter. Just try to supervise her while she uses it.

I’d wait till she is 1 so she can enjoy it more, at 6 months she probably won’t wanna play with it much

Cute doll. But not appropriate for a 6 month old. Small pieces on the hat and arm. I would get like a fabric doll with no extra pieces on it and not made out of small ball like the Ty Beanie Babies are made out of.

Try the dolls that are soft. That way the doll won’t be heavy if she try’s to pick it up. Also she will be able to cuddle with the doll. I recently bought a friend of mines daughter, a doll that was plush and smelled like lavender. Its supposed to help calm babies.

Fisher-Price has a My First Dolly for 3 months and up. The face is plastic and the body and head are a rag-doll type. They come in Caucasian, African and Hispanic American versions, along with being able to buy a boy (blue) or a girl (pink). You should check out their website.

Oh thats a great doll. My friends little girl loved her cabbage patch kids doll when she was about 8 months old and that recommended age is like 5yrs or something, lol. Just as long as you keep any small parts away you are fine.

U should wait till she turns a year to play with dollies. u should get her some activity toys so that way she can start learning alot of new things. I have a 4 month old as well and be 6 months in dec and we let him explore with his new gym that have toys that make noise or light up and he seems to enjoy that very well.

I think for a six month old I prefer this doll:

It’s soft and lighter for her to hold. The one you chose is lovely too, but I think it might be a bit big for her?

I personally don’t see any problem with this doll for your baby and as far as her not being able to play with it at her age, I think this depends on the child….my 8 month old son loves to play with my older daughters water baby when he is taking a bath and it has been the first think he reaches for when he gets in the tub for the last 2 months. He loves real babies and tries to kiss them when he sees one. I think the water baby reminds him of a real baby because all he wants to do it talk to it and kiss it.
I say go for it, it’s a beautiful doll.

In the infant toy section at toys r us they have another doll that’s age appropriate. It’s made by fisher price called baby’s 1st doll (well at least in the US they do):

If you like the look of the doll you picked then it should be fine too. It’s probably a little too big for her to play with at six months though. I wouldn’t worry too much about safety issues with the doll because like you said there’s no small parts so it would be fine. I just personally prefer one that I can toss into the washer because she’ll suck on and drool all over it. Good luck I hope this helps!
I personally like Under the Nile dolls/toys for my 6 month old. They are organic and very cute. Here’s a link to some:

I would give it to my daughter, it is cute. I think it would be ok as long as you are watching her while she is playing with it.

My son is 15 months and doesn’t play with dolls. Sorry. He enjoys balls very much.
