By giving children … By giving children everything they want, you might make them temporarily ‘happy’, but you have also taught them to be selfish. I wanted an NES, had to settle for the Atari we already had… grateful that my parents didn’t cater to my every whim.
I wanted a Cabbage … I wanted a Cabbage Patch Kid bad but my parents told me I’d have to wait a little bit because they weren’t getting into fights for toys. So a year later I got a brunette girl with a ponytail and a few months later I got a blonde girl with two braids and a tooth. To this day I still have both and they sit on my bed (after having been in my closet for a few years). They’ve travelled from college, to apartments, to live in boyfriend’s homes.
my grandmother … my grandmother worked at a department store and managed to purchase one at her employee discount before the store opened that day. the only reason i got one!
Remember the Cabbage Patch Kids craze back in the 80’s??!!
