I know how to make the rest of the doll (body, face, head, etc.), but I can’t find instructions on how to make a doll that’s button-jointed.Thanks!!

Here are some sites that tell how to make the joints or give ideas:

And this site has an area where you can e-mail with questions – I wonder if she’d be willing to help you?

Or, perhaps your local library would have a doll-making book?

Has anyone ever made a cloth doll designed by Linda Carr? May I see a picture of it if you have made one? Is there a website or group that talks about these Cloth Dolls and do swaps for clothes and accessories?

Here is someone that mentions interest in cloth dolls by Linda Carr

I’m looking for my childhood doll, it looked similar to the Holly Hobbie Cloth Dolls, but she was unique in that her hair was in braided pig tails under a bonnet and the bonnet had hair bows on either side that when pulled would slide her fabric eyes open or closed. It would really mean everything to me if someone could point me in the right direction. I’ve been searching the internet for the longest. Please help! Thanks in advance.

I know exactly the doll you are talking about. I know someone who had one – at least it sounds exactly like what you describe. I will forward your question to her and I am sure she will respond if she can help you.

Introducing the Adorable Kinders Rag Dolls. They are very high quality 18 soft-dolls (true rag dolls). They are made in the USA., in Winter Springs, Florida .

The fundamental theme of the Adorable Kinders collection is an active group of kindergarten friends. Each student has been designed with a different personality in mind.

The name of each character begins with a unique letter from the English alphabet. A is Alise, B is Brittany, C is Christy, and so on.

Children can sleep comfortably with Adorable Kinders rag dolls. They have been engineered for durability while eliminating the uncomfortable hard plastic parts that other dolls have. They are 100% soft cloth rag dolls.

Adorable Kinders rag dolls come dressed in a removable colorful outfit. The clothes are interchangeable from one doll to another.

Both the Adorable Kinders rag dolls and their clothes are all washable! Additional clothing outfits and accessories are available and may be purchased separately.

Each doll comes with an internet key-code that may be used to register online at the Adorable Kinders eSchool. There children can play educational games that make learning fun (Preschool and grades K-6). When all of the games for a grade level are successfully completed, the child graduates to the next grade.

You know for those Cloth Dolls you make they are small not too small but small .

Here are a couple links to making shoes for dolls.

This one is a universal pattern that you would have to adjust for the size of the doll by reducing or enlarging the pattern. It will also give you a good start on making your own pattern: http://www.snsdolls.com/pattarch/dollshoe/shoemain.htm

Simple sandal pattern for any size:

Does any one know how to sell Cloth Dolls? How far is the market for that?
Do provide a source

I take it you make them? I suggest you check ebay for dolls similar to yours and check the completed listings to see if they’re selling. You could also check to see if you have any craft shows in your area, I believe that cloth dolls are usually sold at those, I think they would do weIl this time of year with the holidays coming up. I collect dolls, but prefer vintage to new ones.
