my girlfriend makes dolls and wants to open up a business and we have bad credit and little money.
she has all her supplies for the doll business, but no place to sell them.
any answers will be good.

try an auction site. i suggest oztion as they do not charge you to list items, unlike ebaywho will charge you for listing.
have a peak at oztion, list her dolls.. it wont cost too much at all.
i would love to hear from you and see piccs of her dolls.
depending on the dolls, i may be interested :)

uniqueness is important!!

please feel free to take a look at www.oztion.com.au

contact me if you want to ask any oz questions.

This sounds very similar to me. You guys’ really need to go to http://paydotcom.com/r/10031/pkh383/4044559/ as this was the only outfit to give me full training, along with customer support. These guys’ are really good at what they do, and I believe will fix your situation.

If she has a unique quality product ebay is a great place to start. The biggest problem when starting on your own isn’t getting a website that can do ecommerce these days it’s getting traffic that actually convert into sales. Ebay gives you traffic and of the millions of users they have someone has to be looking for dolls every once in a while. Once you have sold a few and get some cashflow started you can expand your product line to include informational products like ebooks or other types of dolls. The possibilities are endless but you have to get started.

I would suggest your girlfriend take an armful of her dolls to a few places that want to buy her products for a few reasons: 1) they are handmade–much higher intrinsic value; 2) Her very effort is appreciated and an incentive for others because they can visualize themselves as being her; 3) community-minded organizations.

    1) There is an upper-middle class market for people that consider handmade work to be art, and thus have investment value.

    2) Low-income organizations, non-profits, local business groups such as Chamber of Commerce, Neighborhood Associations, and more… her work contributes to society. Social benefit organizations "feel good" about supporting someone like your girlfriend.

    3) This is similar to #2. Try to find a link with a community-minded group–you can try talking with a local bank. Yeah, weird, huh? Banks are mandated to provide a percentage towards community projects. Also, the federal gov’t. has provided substantial funding to "community-minded" projects. The links are: Her business is an incentive to small business attempts, which is also a strategy to reduce poverty. She can work herself in as a role model, simply by showing that individual efforts can be rewarded. Also, hospitals, malls, businesses, etc. will allow her to sell her goods on premises. Location, location location! Have her offer small cups of quality coffee for "browsers".

okay….and #4…. have her place an ad that reaches a variety of age-groups. First would be kids that collect dolls (grade school?). Second would be moms of the first. Third, high school girls that want to give something special to a friend, or little sister, or mom. Fourth would be boys that want to impress number three. Five would be college girls that are becoming obsessive about a "theme". Six is boys that want to impress number five…nope, boys don’t grow up.

If you are fairly computer savvy you could start your own legitimate home based internet business without any investment required – which you can use to sell your dolls from.
